“What we face may look insurmountable. But I learned something from all those years of training and competing. I learned something from all those sets and reps when I didn’t think I could lift another ounce of weight. What I learned is that we are always stronger than we know.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger
“The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.” – Vince Lombardi
How committed are you to pursuing greatness?
Most of us if given the chance, want to do just enough to “get by.” We estimate – incorrectly most times – that if we give just enough in this area, we’ll get by and can keep going. Our work is “ok” but far from anything to brag about. But, it gets us through another week, another paycheck, and onto another project.
How many of us are guilty of completing a paper in high school that we spent hardly any time on but knew we could just squeak by passing with?

Instantly. All of at once. Abruptly. Life changes suddenly.
For those of us who have lost a loved one, “suddenly” is when our world was rocked. A phone call, someone at the front door, or an accident and life is completely changed. The word conjures up bad memories or flashbacks of how things “were good” then suddenly they weren’t.
But “suddenly” isn’t necessary a bad word. It shouldn’t always be about bad memories.
“I met her, then suddenly my life changed for the better.”
“I walked into that first class, did the workout, and suddenly, I was hooked.”
Suddenly happens only one way – with action.
“A story not shared does not serve.” – Chris Smith

Like many of you, I tend to play it close to the vest. I internalize my struggles and rarely, if ever, share the obstacles I’m currently battling. I don’t want to post it on Facebook. I don’t want to vent to someone. I just want to deal with it, quietly and alone. The problem with that thinking is that my obstacle starts to grow within my head. The “pebble” becomes a giant and my situation moves toward one where victory seems impossible. I haven’t shared my battle with anyone so it feels like I am the only one going through this.
I feel often times that I am the only one facing this particular battle. And that’s one helluva lonely feeling.
