When life pushes us down, we push right back.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I (Anna) was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. I have been a Texas girl my whole life and love the Lone Star State. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a B.S. in Kinesiology/Exercise Science and fell in love with training during college. I met the love of my life (Austin) shortly after graduating because he started working for my gym. We started off as coworkers, became friends, started dating, and were married the next year.

I (Austin) was born in Pensacola, Florida. My family moved to Texas when I was 3 years old. I grew up in Mansfield, TX and graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from UTA. I specialize in strength and conditioning and have worked with athletes of all ages from kids, up to the collegiate and professional level. For fun, I compete in powerlifting and love to lift and train hard. I set a state record in my weight class for bench and deadlift last summer at the Naturally Fit Games in Austin, TX.

We started Equipping Strength about a year and a half ago after building up our clientele. We’ve always wanted to have our own business and we love helping others reach their goals and become stronger, healthier, and more confident individuals.

2. What’s a typical day look like for you?

We are both up before the crack of dawn to start training our clients. We usually have a few breaks here and there throughout the day and those are spent eating, working out, handling the backside part of our business, and working on growing our blog and/or social media outlets. After a long day, the number one thing we want to do is netflix and chill. During the week we enjoy cooking and having a relaxing evening at home.

3. How did you get started on your current fitness journey?

We both got into fitness in high school. I played volleyball and danced and Austin competed in football, track, and diving. In college we were both very active. I loved running when I first started and then transitioned more into lifting. I also started a women’s bootcamp up on my college campus and led that for 3 years. Austin loved water sports growing up and started getting serious into lifting when he was in college.

4. What’s one goal you’re currently training for?

I (Anna) am currently going through a reverse dieting and building phase. My goal for the next few months is to continue to slowing build up my calories to get my metabolic capacity as high as I can without putting on a lot of weight and working in the gym to build more muscle. I want to be healthy and strong for LIFE.

I (Austin) am training for my next powerlifting meet and focusing on getting stronger in my bench, squat, and deadlift.

5. What’s one life goal you’re currently pursuing outside of fitness?

We both want to travel as much as we can while we are young. We are headed to California at the end of this month and Cancun for our wedding anniversary in November. We work hard so we can play harder

6. What does it mean to you to Compete Every Day?

To Compete Every Day is to wake up every single day with the champion mindset and to fight for what we believe in, to stand STRONG when the going gets tough and keep going when other’s give up. When life pushes us down, we push right back.

7. What/who do you compete for?

We compete for each other, our marriage, our families, and loved ones. We compete for our health and quality of life. And most importantly, we compete for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ because this life is merely a breath, but heaven is eternity.
