End on empty.
How many times have you gotten to the end of the workout, and wished you’d pushed yourself harder? It’s easy to coast sometimes, thinking we’re going as hard as we can. Yet, we leave and in the back of our minds, know we didn’t give it all we’ve got. We cheated ourselves from pushing our limits that day. So we find more motivation the next time we enter the gym to go harder and try to leave it all out there.
How many of you athletes remember the last game you played? Did you leave everything out on the field, being completely empty of energy/strength/fire at the final whistle because you gave your all?
Or how about those of us who have lost someone dear this year – we always look back wish we’d said one more “I love you” or gave one more affirmation that we let go unsaid.
For better or worse, 2016 isn’t over yet.
Most of us look back on each year around this time and wonder “what if.” What if I had given a little bit more this year? What if I had gotten a break or two, would things be different? What if, what if, what if. 2016 isn’t completely written yet. You have 80 days left to give it all you’ve got. To End on Empty.
You can give full effort to pivot off of what may have been a bad year – and end it strong, setting yourself up to make 2017 your best one yet.
You can go all-in on yourself to gain ground on the next goal you’ve set after accomplishing your primary one for this year.
You can invest everything to make a positive impact on those around you, and help them reach their goals and pivot their own journey.
Most people are going to look back on this year and wish they’d done more. But a competitor – a true competitor – leaves their all out there every time they compete. And for you, a true competitor – that means giving your all every single day.
