Compete Every Day means not to set boundaries for yourself. If you want it bad enough you’ll do whatever it takes to get there. Not letting your fears get in the way.
1. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m 22 years old, currently live in Ft Worth, but I’m from Austin, Texas. I currently coach full time at Crossfit Heath and I’m also in school full time getting my degree in Kinesiology. I also plan to attend PT school to attain my Doctoral Degree of Physical Therapy.
2. What’s a typical day look like for you?
Mon-Wed-Fri are when I coach sun up to sun down. I wake up at 4am, get to the gym by 5:15, and coach a total of 9 classes those days. I don’t typically get home until about 9pm those nights. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I’m in school all morning. Then I get a 3-4 hour break to either eat, study, or just get a workout in if I can. Then back to the school it is for the afternoon classes I take.
3. How did your current fitness journey start?
From being an athlete my whole life and once baseball was over for me I just had to find something to do. I tried the traditional gym setting and all that; however, that just wasn’t for me. I needed someone to push me. I saw the Crossfit Games on TV and I looked up a gym near me and the rest is history.
4. What’s one life goal you’re currently pursuing outside of fitness?
A life goal of mine that I’m working towards would be getting my Doctorate in PT. This is my top priority when it comes to my future. I’m passionate about this field of work.
5. What does it mean to you to Compete Every Day?
To me it means not to set boundaries for yourself. If you want it bad enough you’ll do whatever it takes to get there. Not letting your fears get in the way.
Get out there, work hard, do what you love, and help others along the way.
6. What/who do you compete for?
I compete for my brothers. I want to be someone they can always look up to. Life wasn’t easy for us growing up; however, we’ve been fortunate enough to cross paths with some great people that have been willing to help us. I strive each and everyday to set an example. I want to show them that hard work will get you places.
