Why I Compete: Leah Greenfield

A natural born competitor will never be ok with mediocrity. 1. Tell...

A natural born competitor will never be ok with mediocrity.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a Head Coach and an athlete. I coach and train full time at CrossFit Ammo in Allen, TX. I’m from the small West Texas town of Seminole, TX.

2. What’s a typical day look like for you?

Typically I’m at the box all day. I’ll wake up, coach about 3 classes, hit session 1 around 10, come back for session 2 at 2:30 and finish the day coaching 3 classes at night! After my day at the box I go home, eat all of the carbs, make my beloved casein pudding and pass out!

3. How did you get started on your current fitness journey?

Ever since college, I’ve loved working out. I was tired of the same ol’ circuit training, leg day, back day, etc. Then a friend introduced me to CrossFit and I haven’t looked back since!

4. What’s one goal you’re currently training for?

Currently I’m looking to qualify for Wodapalooza 2017. But the big goal is Regionals 2017! Not just Regionals 2017 but Games 2017!

5. What’s one life goal you’re currently pursuing outside of fitness?

Tackling those dreadful student loans! Those things suck!

6. What does it mean to you to Compete Every Day?

A natural born competitor will never be ok with mediocrity. I think, for me, every day there’s an opportunity to be my absolute best. Whether in or out of the gym, I’m competing to be the best me that I can be.

7. What/who do you compete for?

I compete to fulfill my goal of never being mediocre. I do it for myself to prove to myself that I can do whatever I set my mind to. I also compete for my family in and outside of the box. Those people are the ones who continue to support me in all that I do. Even on my bad days, they believe. I had the biggest cheering section at Regionals, I compete for them. They’re awesome!
