Compete Every Day got its start in CrossFit and we’re grateful for that. Not just because it is a great community but because of what you can learn from it. In many ways, there is no greater example than Lisbeth Darsh.
Even without knowing her, you know that she is a woman that competes for what she believes. Whether it is her own personal beliefs or for the sake of the organization that she has been associated with for since opening CrossFit Watertown in Oakville, Connecticut over five years ago. Much of that time, she was working another job that many of you may know her for.
As the Director of Social Media for CrossFit, Inc. she has helped revolutionize the social media savvy of the fitness industry. How? By setting the example in the CrossFit niche. Whether it is through early adopting, engaging, managing, aor interacting with the hundreds and thousands of CrossFit enthusiasts, owners, and athletes that take to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and so forth – day in and day out.
For years – between running a business and maintaining this international role, she likely had no time for herself or her sons. But her vision for CrossFit social media was clear then and it is even more so now. A year ago, she left behind her life as a gym owner and focused solely on the complex task of directing a type of medium that people are only beginning to understand.
It’s worth noting her diligence, her expertise, and her tenacity in which she continues to lead CrossFit in her own way. She’s the lightning rod when she needs to be, she’s the communicator when she needs to be. We watch her console some and uplift others. Effortlessly and nonchalantly, she provides direction, content, and perspective in a way that keeps old CrossFitter’s fulfilled and new CrossFitter’s stoked. It’s nothing short of amazing.
We cover many types of individuals on CompeteEveryDay.com: athletes, leaders, business minds, entrepreneurs, and so forth. Few have impacted our crew as much as she has.
She’s said, “Change is the only constant in our lives.” It’s for this reason and with her understanding of this simple principle that few are better prepared to handle and excel in a field that evolves – not by the year or month but by the day. Every day you can watch her compete for what she believes in real time. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
