Every word we speak to another. Every action we take, deliberate or otherwise. Everything single action we take tells the world what we believe about ourselves, others, and the world at large.
What type of story is your life telling others about you? Too often we acknowledge lifestyles with our mouths. We say we hustle hard. We can't stop talking about "goal A" or "goal B" we plan to accomplish. We believe "x" to be true. Yet our actions dictate a different story, one much louder than our mouths could ever tell.
We say we believe this, yet our shirt is covered in words that tell a stranger something quite different. We talk about wanting to lose weight and reach new fitness goals, yet we still reach for the snooze button in the morning and the piece of cake with dinner. We stay busy with tasks but which of those are actually work-related items getting us one step closer to our goals and which are simply "liking" Facebook updates?
Too often we get caught telling a different story with our mouth than the ones we live with our lives. And we look up five years down the road, and wonder why things have remained the same (or gotten worse) still? Our life story is being continually written based on what we do, not what we say.
What are you going to do today to write a better life story for yourself and those in it?
